Hepatitis C through a Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Justice Lens (On Demand-CE)
This training will focus on highlighting the importance of using diversity-equity-inclusion-justice (DEIJ) frameworks in Hepatitis C virus (HCV) surveillance, treatment, and prevention.
Emergency Preparedness and Response through a Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Justice Lens (On Demand-CE)
This training will examine the ways emergency preparedness and response can and should employ diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice frameworks.
Assessing Community Assets (Podcast-No CE)
This episode will explore assessing community assets for a Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP). We will discuss strategies for identifying, assessing, and utilizing community assets. We will also talk about opportunities for incorporating diversity, equity, and inclusion into community asset assessment.
Outbreak Investigation: A Framework for Local Health Department Response (Self-Paced – CE)
The goal of this self-paced training is to show learners how to put together simpler, realistic activities at their health departments that can regularly be held and attended by an interdisciplinary team. While this training is grounded in a Michigan context, the framework and best practices can be applied in other states and settings.
Relation to Michigan Center for Infectious Disease Threats & Pandemic Preparedness (MCIDT)
MCIDT is a bioscience initiative directed by Aubree Gordon. It focuses on establishing the University of Michigan as a leader in infectious disease threats and positioning the university to respond to the current COVID-19 pandemic and other future pandemics.

Our Mission
Public Health Prepared (PHP or PH Prepared) is the workforce development and public health practice branch of the broader Michigan Center for Infectious Disease Threats & Pandemic Preparedness (MCIDT) initiative. As such, we contribute to MCIDT’s mission of serving as a convening and coordinating force for the field by engaging cross-sectoral partners to translate research into practice for infectious disease control and prevention.
Our work focuses on building the strategic skills and capacity of the public health workforce, broadly defined, to address emerging infectious disease threats in Michigan and beyond.
